This little boy can always make me smile and always has me laughing.
Tonight being no exception. Because I don't want to forget this conversation, and because it will undoubtedly bring a smile to your face as well, it has been deemed "blog worthy."
After seeing several expensive sports cars on the drive home from Costco, I asked Harrison: What kind of car will you drive when you grow up?
Harrison: Well, a car same as yours! A Ford of course.
Me: A Ford?! How do you know my car is a Ford?
H: Because it says so on your steering wheel.
{duh... what was I thinking?}
H: Daddy's car is a Ford too.
Me: You're right. So will you drive a Ford like mine, or a Ford like Daddy's?
H: Probably like yours. Yeah. Like yours. And it will be kind of brownish. And Mommy, do you know what? I will be right in the next one over!
Me: The next one over from what?
H: In the house the next one over.
Me: What do you mean?
H: I will live in the house the next one over from YOU.
Me: When you grow up you're going to live next door to me?! That would be great! Then we could visit every day!
H: Yes, that's what! And my wife will live there too.
Me: Oh yeah?
H: Yes she will be very beautiful.
Me: Oh?
H: Yes.
Me: Well tell me more. Will you have kids when you grow up?
H: Yes. Probably 64.
Me: 64?!! That is a LOT of kids!
H: {first laughs hysterically like he just told the world's funniest joke} Yep! 64!
Me: Wowee, buddy!
H: You know what else? Guess what we'll have in our backyard?
Me: What?
H: Chickens!
Me: Chickens??? {what in the world?}
H: Yep. And a chicken house.
{we then had a talk about chickens and eggs, and I told Harrison that he would need a lot of eggs to feed 64 children...}
H: I meant that I will only have one boy and one girl.
Me: Not 64 kids?
H: No, just two. One boy and one girl. And you know what their names will be?
Me: I would LOVE to know what their names will be!
H: Eli.
Me: The boy Eli? What about the girl?
H: PENELOPE!!!! {followed by giggles. there is always a lot of giggling when you talk to Harrison}
Me: Eli and Penelope... In you house next door to me, with a car the same as mine. That will be so great!
H: And there's more! You know what we'll have IN the house? FISH. 2 of them.
{Harrison then went into detail about the one black fish and one goldfish that they'll have, but he's not sure what they'll name them yet. But they'll be little. But then they'll grow big. And in case you were wondering, they'll live in a big, big fish bowl.}
He just kept going on, and on, and on about all the little things that will make up his life when he gets big. (You got the abridged version) He was so happy to tell me about these things, and he had so many little details to include. It was SO funny and SO sweet all at the same time.
I keep replaying this conversation in my head and it brings a smile to my face every time. Oh how I love this little boy!
