Christmas Wishlists

As requested, here are some Christmas wishes for 2008:


Harrison

Loves anything that has to do with balls, cars, trucks, planes, and trains. He's all boy, and would be thrilled to have anything that has anything to do with any of those items. Mommy thinks he would particularly get a kick out of this:

There is yet another new addition to the Wride house...


Say goodbye to the Tercel and say hello to the new Ford Fusion!! Peter somehow managed to say goodbye to the Terk, (he missed it so bad that we drove by to visit it the next day in the nursing home.) and welcomed into the family the car of his dreams. It's black on black, really fast :) and exactly what we wanted. We absolutely love it!! Peter would sleep in it if Leslie let him. Since Peter only goes to Provo 3 times a week, that means Leslie gets to drive it to work every once in a while too and she even got to drive it home from the dealership. What a guy!!


Peter is trying hard not too think he is too cool in the Fusion :) Here are a few snapshots of our new baby...

Happy Halloween!!

To get ready for Halloween, we got together with Adam, Marie, and Spencer, and Lizzy, Andrew, and Jaxson to carve pumpkins!! It was so much fun! Our pumpkins didn't turn out quite as amazing as Amy and Erik's, but at least we had fun making them. Poor Lizzy, her house was a disaster when we finished! Halloween is so much more fun with little kids around.


Speaking of little kids, Halloween was a big hit at Midvale Elementary School.
Candy + costumes + kids = mass chaos in the second grade. I took my camera so I could take a picture with my kids, and as the bell rang and all my kids were leaving I realized that I forgot to use it... (too many other things to think about with 18 seven year olds running around). I had to go out and find some of my kids in the hall so that I could at least have some pictures of my first Halloween in the schools (aka proof that I survived).



I didn't want my kids whining all day about how their teacher didn't dress up for Halloween, so I had to dress up. The only thing Peter and I could think of it the wee hours of the morning before school started was this. Just call me coach! Believe it or not, my kids loved it. Seven year olds are so easy to please. We didn't get any trick or treaters that night, so it was nice to be a part of the Halloween excitement.

Wild Weekend at the Wrides!

We were thrilled to have some weekend visitors from Idaho! Rachel and Eric came down for Lisa's wedding on Saturday (an old roommate of both Leslie and Rachel), and stayed until Monday night! Visitors are the greatest - most especially family. We loved having them here. We played games, went to dinner, made chocolate chip cookies, watched movies, and (the part we think they liked best) stared for hours at our new fish.


Rachel let us use her Sam's Club card to buy milk and diet Cokes (thanks again Rach!) And thanks to a quick visit to Midvale Elementary, all of the girls in Leslie's second grade class now think that Rachel is their new best friend, and Eric is the coolest, and tallest, boy they know. We sure hope they come again soon! We love visitors! (Hint, hint... Any one else up for a visit to Draper?!)

Fishy Friends

Meet the newest additions to the Wride home!! Aren't they cute?! We've had the black one since February and decided that he needed a few friends. So, after two hours in PetCo (it took us a while to choose which ones we liked the best...) we came home with a big aquarium, a killer filter (no more cleaning!), and 7 new fish! Peter chose the shark (honestly, he's a real bala shark), Leslie chose the wimpy gold and blue ones (wimpy... but cute), there's a big white and gold fantail goldfish, and a little sucker (to keep our new aquarium clean). Names are still to be determined - any votes? The black one is our good friend Moody, because of his crazy eyes, and the shark has become Hagrid, because he looks so big and scary but really is the nicest one in the tank. Harry Potter anyone? You would be surprised how long you can be entertained by staring at a tank full of little fish... We use to watch TV, now we just watch our fish. We've turned into geeks - it's true, but we love our new little fishy friends.

Japanese Please

Our kitchen was looking rather drab with a large white wall so we decided to do a little art project for FHE. Our dishes are black and red and the inspiration for our work. They are 18x30 each, so they now take up a good portion of our rather large kitchen.

We Got Married!!
