100 posts!

It's our 100th post on our blog!!
(I wonder what post I'd be up to if I actually kept up with my blog like I should...)

What better way to celebrate that to post pictures of ... DISNEYLAND!!!! Prepare yourself, this post is going to be long... We took hundreds of pictures and I just know that you want to see them ALL, so I won't hold back.

The very first thing we saw when we entered the park was MICKEY MOUSE! What luck! Harrison was thrilled. He didn't want to have to wait his turn - he wanted to see Mickey right away! The whole time we were in line Harrison repeated "Mi-mi!! Mi-mi!!" until I'm sure the people behind us were ready to go insane. There were a few small breaks from saying Mickey's name, only to say "Oofy" (Goofy) and "Do-doh" (Pluto), who we could also see from the line we were standing in. Good thing we watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse - Harrison had the character names down!

When it was finally our turn Harrison ran to Mickey, giving me a split second to be shocked that my little shy boy was going to give Mickey a hug, but he quickly remembered his true personality by stopping dead in his tracks right before Mickey could reach him, turning around, and running back to us, leaving me not so shocked after all. He wanted to see Mickey, but it turns out he didn't want to touch Mickey.

He LOVED Mickey Mouse. As you can see from the pictures, he could not take his eyes off of him. He kept repeating, "Hi, Mi-mi!! Hi Mi-mi!!" and since Mickey didn't answer back, he said it twenty more times... I think this was his favorite part of the day. While we were waiting in line I told Harrison he could give Mickey a kiss on his nose, and for the rest of the day he said, "Mi-mi nose!" as he remembered the experience.

Here we are in front of the castle! We love Disneyland!!

Meeting Winnie the Pooh. It was the same with every character - he could not take his eyes off of them! It was so cute.

Peter kept putting Harrison on his shoulders and he was so cute up there I just had to get a picture. Seriously though, apparently it was too much to ask for even one good picture of Harrison on Peter's shoulders. I took 20 pictures every time he was up there, and every single one turned out ridiculous. Peter wasn't looking.... Harrison wasn't looking... cheesy smiles were given by both parties... eyes were poked at... sunglasses were being played with... Ridiculous, but pretty funny.

Here we are waiting to go on Dumbo. It was kind of nice to just do the 'kid-scene.' I think that this was only the second time I've been on that ride in my life.

Harrison's favorite ride at Disney? The teacups. Who would have thought?! It was the only ride that he actually smiled on during the ride and not after. (You'll see the face he made on the other rides coming up.) He thought the teacups were great.

But his very favorite part of the day (beside seeing the characters) were these dumb cars that you could sit in at Toon-Town. He love, love, loved them. The only tears we had all day were when we told him it was time to move on to something new.

Also in Toon-Town we got another chance to see Mickey!!

Look at this sad face! Our turn was over and Harrison is saying, "Bye Mi-mi..."

On to California Adventure...

Not bad lines!

Harrison really enjoyed turtle talk with Crush from finding Nemo. Cush swims around on a big screen and answers questions from the audience. We took this picture while waiting to talk to Crush. Whenever Harrison see's it now he says "turtle!" Anyone else think he's a genius for remembering where we were when we struck this fish face pose? (he's in mid lip-smack for his fish noise) We do.

Here's some flashback fun for you - Peter and I right after we got married,

and three and a half years later with Harrison!

This wide-eyed face was a Harrison classic on most rides. He would look scared the whole time and was sure to keep a tight grip on me or Peter the entire time. We couldn't tell if he liked anything or not. It wasn't until the ride was over that he would beg, "Again! Again!" or "More? More?" and smile real big. I think it was just too much to take in at once. He had to wait til it was all over before he decided it was fun.

He was a good helper too. We had him wear his monkey backpack so that we could be 'touching' him the whole time we were in the park. Harrison helped hold the strap so that he wouldn't get lost.

Harrison finally started showing signs of fatigue as we made our way back to Disneyland to finish off our day. After a few minutes of laying on my shoulder and a quick photo-op with his monkey, he found a second wind and we were on our way.

We headed back to the teacups since it was Harrison's favorite.

Here's the classic Harrison face on all the rides! On most rides he had this face the whole time, the teacups was the only ride all day where his look of fear melted away to smiles and giggles.

As the park closed we made one last stop to find a prize for Harrison. He was SO good all day. No nap, lots of lines to wait in, scary new rides... but he was such a good sport. We had so much fun. It was hard to choose the perfect prize with so many options...

Harrison tried hugging just about every stuffed animal in the place before we finallly settled on a good Mickey to buy.

This
Mickey got all the love that the life-sized Mickey missed out on.

including the kiss... Harrison loves Mickey.

And by the time we made the walk back to the hotel, Harrison was ready to be done! He was a sleepy boy. I think it took him a total of 2 seconds to fall asleep when we put him in his bed that night.

Later we went back and walked around Downtown Disney where Harrison had a ball running around sporting his new Mickey Mouse and ears.

Little boys don't come much cuter than this.

We loved Disneyland!! We had such a good time and cannot WAIT to go back and do it again.
