Happy Halloween!

Here's our little turkey on Halloween!



Dang I love that costume. Harrison loved it too. I first bought him a dinosaur costume (that was to die for) but he hated it. Hate isn't even strong enough - he cried every time he saw it and threw it across the room. I left it out hoping he would get use to it and eventually like the idea, but whenever he walked by the costume he hit it. No joke. Where did he learn that? So the dinosaur went back and I bought the turkey, and I'm so glad I did. He was more than happy to wear it and even learned to say "gobble, gobble." Okay, it was a little more like "bobble, bobble" but still pretty cute. And by far the best part? Look at this turkey bum:



Here we are practicing for trick-or-treating. (Take note of our new lawn that Peter and Eric put in.)





Our first Halloween adventure was at Peter's work. All of the employees had candy on their desks so that the kids could go trick-or-treating. Harrison is terrified of strangers so I didn't think it would go very well but decided to try anyways. How was I not going to show off that cute turkey? He was way to darling to keep at home. At first he wasn't very sure about the idea:


Rachel was the second desk we stopped at, and even though he knows her, you can see how nervous he was.


But by the third desk he figured out that if he said "tri-tree" someone would put candy in his bucket and he was loving it.






His fear of strangers was totally gone and he was all about trick-or-treating. We went home to have some dinner, and then he was more than excited to get his costume back on and go try again.

Knock-knock!


He would say "tri-tree" and then wait for the candy. HE wanted to put it in the bucket, and didn't really get why someone would try and put it in there for him.



He was so sweet. After he got the candy he would say thank you, and then just stand there and hope that they were going to give him more. It was so funny.



And with this sweet face, sometimes he did get more.


He would then wave and say goodbye to every person that came to the door. I've never seen him so friendly to so many strangers. EVER. It was awesome. He LOVED Halloween. Grandparents take note: candy is apparently the way to Harrison's heart. M&M's and suckers were the candy of choice - I'm pretty sure he doesn't know the rest of the stuff is edible, just something cool to put in his bucket.
