Swinging is so fun

Happy 4th of July!

We had a busy 4th this year. We went to the big parade in Provo first thing in the morning. We took Harrison to the parade in Springville a couple weeks ago and he really loved it; the horses, the bikes, the floats... he thought they were all great and smiled and waved at everyone that went by. Naturally, we thought he'd love this Provo parade just as much.

Hmph. You never know with this boy. Here's what he thought of this parade:



The first things to pass by were the police cars and fire engines with their sirens on. He hated them. Then once he was grumpy he wanted nothing to do with the parade. We had to walk all the way down to the beginning where the parade started and sit off on the side and just peek through to the floats and bands and cars as they got started. Once he had a little snack the parade got better.







Then some people with dogs walked by (Harrison's new love in life are dogs) and he was ready to follow them anywhere - even if it meant getting close to the parade he hated so much.





After the parade we went to an early lunch with Eric and Rachel, then we worked our way up to Draper because Brett and Mori were in town and it's been ages since we've seen Shauna and company. The kids went swimming (Harrison's other love in life) even though the water was FREEZING.





After an afternoon visit with family we headed back to Orem where we had a fourth of July BBQ with Rachel, Eric, Jenny, Ryan, and their boys Caden and Colby. Yum. Good times.

To wrap up the day we headed up to the temple to watch fireworks with Rachel and Eric. We had a fantastic view, and Stadium of Fire never disappoints. Harrison fell asleep about 45 minutes before the fireworks started but woke up just in time for the show. He really liked the fireworks and snuggled with mommy the whole time, but because he was so tired he was a little cranky about people cheering or clapping for the fireworks. He got really upset anytime anyone yelled or clapped but as soon as they were quiet again the tears stopped. He was trying to enjoy the show people! What's with all the noise?! Here we are waiting for it to get dark. I forgot to take some of us actually watching the fireworks... Take note of cute matchy-matchy Father and Son - I dressed them myself. :)

Water Baby

Welcome home Dallin!! We were more than happy to make a trip to Arizona last week to welcome home the Elder. While Ralph and Jerry might say otherwise, we happen to think that those 2 years flew by. I still have a hard time seeing Dallin old enough to go on a mission let alone be home from one. Weird...

It was so fun to have the whole family together. It was roasting hot in Mesa, so we were either in the pool or in the air conditioned house the whole time. Harrison LOVED the pool. I don't think love is even a strong enough word. He was like a fish. He splashed and kicked and smiled the whole time. You had to have a good grip on him because he was constantly dunking his head in the water and twisting and turning trying to swim by himself. Any time anyone said "swimming" his eyes got big and he headed toward the back door hoping someone would take him out. I guess I should sign him up for swimming lessons! Happy Father's Day!

Only a few weeks late, right?

Peter has his own office at work (I know - big time, huh?) and has been saying for weeks now that he needs pictures for his desk. Well, I don't really love to have my picture taken - I'm usually the one taking all of the pictures (you've all seen that our blog consists of only pictures of Harrison. We have issues...) - but I decided that cute pictures would make a good Father's Day present so went for it. For your viewing pleasure, here are some of the pictures that Peter now displays in his office.

Peter is such a wonderful father. He is so loving and so caring and he works so hard to be able to provide for his family. He cooks us yummy dinners, plays lots of fun games, and even does Harrison's bath time every night (that alone makes him the father of the year!). Harrison calls him daddy (which I happen to think is darling) and walks up and down the hallway calling "daaaaaaaaa-ddyyyyyyyyy... daaaaaaaaaa-ddyyyyyyyy..." when he's looking for him. He giggles and squeals with delight whenever he finally does find daddy, and cries when daddy goes to work.

If we don't say it enough, or are too little to say it at all, we love you more than words can describe and are so grateful for all you do for us! You are a fantastic father and we would be lost without you. Happy Father's Day!

The Updates are Coming...

Things are getting fancy around here! I got Photoshop for Mother's Day and I've been itching to give our blog a makeover. :) Don't worry, I got Peter's permission to make our blog totally scrappy and flowery and girlish - he said it was okay. (I married a good man. He let's me do whatever I want. Love you, sweetie!) But since I spent so long playing around with a new look for our blog, I didn't actually get to any of the updates I was going to post.
